Who Am I?

Vector portrait of Laura

I'm a UX designer and design generalist, and I've been building my skills in the field for over five years. I earned a degree in Interactive Digital Media from U of T in 2015, and I've been working as part of a UX team at U of T ever since to design online tools and services that aim to make the lives of students and staff easier. I use design principles and ongoing feedback from users and project team members to inform everything I make, from sketches to prototypes to finished designs. See my UX work here!

My favourite design tools to use at the moment are Figma and InVision.

I have plenty of experience doing the following:

  • Usability tests, interviews and card sorts.
  • Heuristic and accessibility analyses (focusing on WCAG 2.1, AA level).
  • Identifying user needs via personas, user story maps, and user stories.
  • Low to high-fidelity wireframing and prototyping using all the above as a guide.

I'm also a hobbyist artist and game designer, and you can find my work on this site. Read my blog if you're interested in my journey of applying UX practices to the design of my first game.
